My name is Carrie Ann Toreno and I am a visual problem solver with a goal to find the best way to communicate any message clearly and leave a lasting impression. There is more than one way to say the same thing. In any project, design is self-less and it is only about the client and the message. The beauty of the design is that it is what I make of it. There are always endless possibilities.
I graduated from James Madison University with a BFA in graphic design. I have been in the corporate world creating visual solutions since I graduated.

Graphic Design
Lead designer for the brand and look for Instructor-Led and Web-Based Training programs. Worked with Instruction Systems Designers and Project Managers to discuss design approach alternatives. Client meetings with FAA Instructional Systems Specialists, Subject Matter Experts and Managers to collaborate on the design throughout the project until completion. Create illustrations, infographics, charts and other design needs for the company.

Graphic Design Manager
Manage the overall brand and all design that is produced for print and web for the IAFC. Produced the look for 6 main conferences and the collateral material to support each show ranging from booth design to brochures as well as website design. Designed logos for all conferences, new programs, for-profit sector, redesigned the IAFC logo and other products as needed. Also produced ads for various national magazines. Created eBooks, website, web banners, web buttons and all printed materials. Redesigned the IAFC website and all collateral materials to keep the new brand consistent.

Design and Production Manager
Sole designer of all print materials for the company. Completed 300 to 600 page book layouts each month and all the collateral material that goes with the different publications. Designed the cover, inside layout, and artwork for all books. Redesigned the company newsletter and layout each month. Performed all steps of the production process. Redesigned software and other company logos. Worked to build a strong Corporate Identity with all of the company publications, products, and programs. Managed the production calendar and all design projects. Designed and updated website ads and email templates in Dreameaver.

2004-2006
Assistant Art Director
Co-designed a new Corporate Identity with sub brands for the company and its 50 chapters. Managed layout of three newsletters; created conference material from the original concept to printed co-working pieces; completed book layout from cover design to layout design; layout spreads in company magazine (Common Ground); created illustrations for company magazine; layout brochures, flyers, handbooks; and overheads. Brainstormed concept ideas for the company magazine’s artwork and located stock or commissioned illustration or photography. Sent each project through the production process.
